Solar-Plus-Storage Costs Fall Below $40/MWh for First Time, Undercutting Natural Gas

New data from Lazard shows that solar-plus-storage levelized costs have dropped below $40 per megawatt-hour in optimal locations, making the combination cheaper than new natural gas peaker plants for the first time.
