      NYPA Announces $250 Million Commitment to Accelerate Flexibility of Electric Grid to Combat Climate Change

      The New York Power Authority (NYPA) announced a new commitment to invest $250 million between now and 2025 to accelerate the flexibility of the electric grid to give New Yorkers greater access to renewable energy resources such as wind and solar power. The multi-pronged, collaborative investment will address key market and financing barriers, accelerate implementation of up to 150 megawatts (MW) of grid flexibility projects and decrease market risk. The announcement also plays an essential role in growing a clean energy economy by accelerating private sector investment and achieving the state’s clean energy goals, maintaining affordable energy and combating climate change for all New Yorkers.
