      The challenge of solar photovoltaic technology is that it doesn’t produce energy when the sun isn’t shining—but that doesn’t mean we can’t harness the sun’s energy and use it at night. A SunShot Initiative project with Austin Energy is working to develop energy storage solutions to enable higher amounts of solar to be added to the grid, while also developing a storage model that can be used by other utilities, allowing more people to power their lives with solar energy around the clock.
