      Alstom-Saft Teams with EDF on Grid Storage

      The Alstom-Saft consortium is partnering with the EDF group to supply an initial energy storage system using a container of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batterie. Alstom’s MaxSine eStorage solution, connected to Saft’s Intensium Max 20M storage system, will be installed on EDF R&D’s experimental concept grid, designed to develop grids and smart electrical systems. The installation is located south of Paris, the first of its kind in France.

      French €30M project to test integrating renewables and batteries.

      Alstom is partnering with Electricité Réseau Distribution France (ERDF), EDF SA, SAFT, and other industrial partners, to test new energy management technologies while integrating renewable energies and batteries. The €30 million project will take place on France’s Côte d’Azur and is funded by the French General Commission for Investment (CGI) and the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) will help fund the project; while the European Union will be the other major public contributor.
