    Electrovaya Awarded $1.3 Million IESS Grant To Deliver Systems To Toronto

    The Canadian lithium-ion battery maker Electrovaya was recently presented with a $1.3-million grant, with the purpose of the grant being to aid the company in the production and delivery of multiple Intelligent Energy Storage Systems (IESS) to a number of different locations for Toronto Hydro and London Hydro. The grant is supported by the Ontario Ministry of Energy’s Smart Grid Fund. The IESS units will be put to use for a number of different specific purposes/applications — including infrastructure deferment, electric vehicle charging, phase balancing, and general energy storage functions.
